In the Mallorcan village of Puigpunyent, a rural idyll 10 minutes drive from Palma, set in a valley of olive groves, palms and pines framed by the Tramuntana mountains, Jim Dunn is looking to sell his house.

Surrounding the house are extensive gardens created by the Mallorca-based designer Ali Warren-Gash, with a large outdoor pool, orange orchards, pergolas dripping in vines and a lavender field that stretches into the hills. It’s a vision of Balearic bliss, but now in their 70s, Jim and Arthur – who split their time between homes in Mallorca, Malta and central London – feel it’s more than they need.
